As an explanation page, this will be rather short.  First, here is an email that I sent to a list explaining what I wanted to acheive with this series.

But to end the talk on
this part...the whole idea of this series of stories is several fold:
1. How would Doctor react with a human..forcing his hand about his
interactions with them. There is a difference between interacting
with them and actually understanding them. How would he react if
indeed he creates what is not a normal relationship with another for
his race. (deeper, more personal)
2. How would a human, namely Tegan, react with a Gallifreyan. Tegan
also experiences growth here. We will take her from this stage
through becoming a true emotional adult. And how would she react to
a deeper, more personal relationship with one not of her race.
3. Expand on the myth. I love to do that.
4. Expand the interactions of the companions.

The first two points are self-explanatory.  The third...well...I have to fool around with the myth or it just wouldn't seem possible.  Let's put it this way, it wouldn't be possible for this story to take place.  To give an overall view which is explained by the Doctor in depth in the story is:  Time Lords have two sexually active incarnations due to an edict set down by Rassilon to keep them...more in touch with their roots.  For the most part, it is a very structured affair with the Time Lord knowing the Gallifreyan woman ahead of time.  Women volunteer.  It is also biologically necessary.  In the fifth and ninth (again, my imagination) personas, there is a triggering mechanism and imprinting action that occurs almost immediately after the regeneration is finished.  The Gallifreyan woman is needed to attend the fifth and ninth regeneration so that they are immediately imprinted upon by the male.  If one is not available, the first female with similar hormonal fluxes is picked.

Guess what...

There wasn't a Gallifreyan woman available at his fourth regeneration. And the Doctor doesn't like this persona, this regeneration, this action at all.

That is the biological explination behind the series premise as I have been able to figure it out.

The fourth point...well...come on.  They are individuals, you know.  Better make them act like it.

As point of view, I told it from Tegan's.  Why?  Because I can think like a young woman, I am one.  There is a difference between her and I in that I am not as...brash, I guess or harsh.  I haven't had the past that I have given her either.

There will be somewhat graphic explanations, actions.  There will be violence.   There will be frank discussions of sex, interaction, emotions.  There will be other things that I think would possibly happen.  And some conversations will lead no where...after all, how many in life actually have a point?  Mind the ratings.   Understand what this is about and what it means for reading.  I encourage constructive feedback, not flames.  Please feel free to let me know what you think.
